dilettante is the nom de plume of a writer, community organiser and filmmaker.  This name – dilettante – is one where many worlds fit.

A dilettante is an amateur—literally, one who loves what they do. A dilettante is a child who plays by inventing all the rules from scratch, with the attitude of looking at the world for the first time. Every time. Any time.

For what truly matters, the biography of dilettante is simply an inventory of encounters: with the south of Italy, the land in which I was born. With still and moving pictures. With a priest teaching in the slums of Rome. With the pedagogy of Teatro do Oprimido. With the analysis of wage labor and its exploitation. And, always, with the body—and everything it knows and can learn, with and beyond the mind.
