Niente Sarà Più Come Prima
novel
This is the story of two people falling out of love during the 2020-2021 Covid-19 pandemic. Narrated from the male protagonist’s perspective, the novel opens at the dawn of Italy’s first lockdown in March 2020. When his partner decides to spend the second lockdown at a Buddhist institute in the heart of Tuscany, he follows her there, leaving Milan behind. Within the protected confines of this “Little Italian Tibet,” they find themselves among people from various walks of life, all grappling with the uncertainty of an extraordinary historical moment while their own relationship crumbles. The institute becomes an emotional echo chamber where the couple struggles to find a way forward, or perhaps, a way to let go.
